When you think about what kinds of jobs people are willing to do . . . well, almost anything.   \n<p><\/p><p>\nLook at this image. Why do they do this? Because it is their &#8220;job&#8221; to do so.\nSo, how much do they get paid to do their &#8220;job&#8221;? [See: The brutal attack of protesters by Chicago police in 1968: <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3XzdltsTfvE\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>]\n<\/p><p>\nIn the United States the median salary as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salary.com\/research\/salary\/alternate\/police-officer-salary\">Police Officer Salary in the United States<\/a> is $59,900 per year.  And a soldier&#8217;s pay with benefits is roughly the same. See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goarmy.com\/benefits\/total-compensation.html\">MILITARY COMPENSATION: ARMY BENEFITS<\/a>.\n<\/p><p>\nI am reflecting on this because of what is happening in Kazakhstan.  According to the following chart, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salaryexplorer.com\/salary-survey.php?loc=110&amp;loctype=1&amp;job=504&amp;jobtype=3\">Police Officer Average Salary in Kazakhstan 2022<\/a>, the average salary is $549.28 per month.\n<\/p><p>\n&#8220;In Kazakhstan, 4.3% of the population lives below the national poverty line in 2018.&#8221; \n<\/p><p>\n&#8220;The minimum income level below the subsistence minimum in Kazakhstan is $35 per month. Any amount below the minimum is considered as poverty.
